OwnChat's Field Collection feature centralizes and manages customized data fields, enabling swift input, easy access, and streamlined workflows for enhanced organizational efficiency.
Adding custom fields in OwnChat involves creating new data fields within the platform's contact management system. Users can specify the field name, data type (e.g., text, number, date), and optional settings such as making the field mandatory or providing predefined options.

How to add custom fields in Ownchat?
From the contact screen, access Settings next to the Add Customer button.
Choose Field Collection from the dropdown menu.
Click on Add to create a new custom field.
Provide a field name in label and a hint for users.
Choose the appropriate data type from the nine listed options below:
Text: Accepts alphabets and numbers (e.g., Name, Company name).
Text area: Allows for paragraph type input (e.g., Address).
Number: Accepts integers and decimals.
Email: Specifically for email addresses (e.g., [email protected]).
Select: Choose single option from a dropdown menu (e.g., Location, Gender) and provide accepted values, type their selection, then select it, and finally verify that the selected value is displayed.
Date: Enter date in the specified format (e.g., 07-Jun-2024 6:00PM).
Switch: Toggle on/off type (e.g., Yes/No).
Phone number: Accepts numerical input for phone numbers.
Multi-Select: Choose multiple options from a dropdown menu (e.g., Customer Behaviour).
Toggle the switch to make the custom field mandatory or optional.
Click "Save" to finalize the custom field creation.
Now the custom field has been created on the contact screen and is ready to accept values in the specified format.
