# QR Code and Whatsapp Link Creation

### Overview  

This feature lets you generate a shareable WhatsApp link or QR code for your Ownchat-subscribed number. Customers who use the link or scan the QR code are redirected directly to WhatsApp to start a conversation.

### Step 1: Open the Link Generator &#x20;

1. Open your Ownchat **Dashboard**.
2. Click the **link icon** to generate a shareable WhatsApp channel link or QR code.<br>

3. Click **Create a Custom WhatsApp Link** to generate a personalized WhatsApp URL or QR code.

You will be redirected to the Ownchat website's **WhatsApp Link Generator** page.<br>

### Step 2: Create the Link &#x20;

1. Click the Create Link for Free button.<br>

2. Enter your Ownchat subscribed number in the provided field.

3. (Optional) Add a bot intent in the custom message field to generate leads and engage users through the chatbot.<br>

4. Click **Generate WhatsApp Link** to create your unique messaging link.

The link and QR code will be generated and displayed.

### Step 3: Use the Link or QR Code &#x20;

* Link: Copy the generated link and use it to generate leads.
* QR Code: Download the QR code and use it to generate leads.<br>

Once a customer clicks the link or scans the QR code, they are automatically redirected to WhatsApp with the number you entered.
