Steps to Add a Single Customer Contact:

  • Navigate to the Contacts Screen which is located in the side menu of your Ownchat account.

  • Click on Add Customer which is typically located in the top right corner of the Contacts screen and it shows a dropdown menu with options for adding contacts.

  • Select New from the Drop-Down Menu to create a single customer contact.

  • Enter Customer Details:

a.Name: Enter the customer's full name or your preferred name. It's a mandatory field

b. Mobile Number: Fill in the customer's mobile number, ensuring the country code is prefixed with the mobile number. It's a mandatory field

c. Allow Broadcast: You can enable or disable this option to control whether the customer receives marketing messages. It's an optional one.

d. Tags: If you want to add tags to the customer, provide them which helps to organize and segment your contacts. It's an optional one.

  • Save the Contact: Once you've entered the customer details, click the Create button to save the new contact to your Ownchat records.

Now customer's contact information will now be displayed in your Ownchat account, allowing you to easily initiate chats or send targeted messages.

  • Navigate to the contact screen on your Ownchat account.

  • Click on "Add Customer" located at the top right corner.

  • From the drop-down menu, select "Bulk Upload" to initiate the process.

  • A dialog box will appear, prompting you to proceed with the bulk upload.

Step 2: Preparing the Spreadsheet

  • Download the provided sample Excel file.

  • Open the file and review the sample data provided in the second row.

  • Fill in the necessary information in the respective columns.

  • Pay attention to details such as the country code, which should be prefixed with the mobile number (e.g., 91 for India, not +91).

Step 3: Saving and Uploading the File

  • Save the filled spreadsheet in CSV format.

  • Upload the CSV file to the Ownchat platform.

  • Optionally, provide a name for the import file and add tags for segmentation purposes.
