Media and Interactive Templates

The Media and Interactive Template allows you to create rich WhatsApp messages with media (images, videos, documents) and interactive buttons for better engagement.

Create a New Template

Steps:

1. Enter a name in the Name field for your template

1. Configure the required template settings

Time To Live (TTL)

The Time To Live (TTL) defines how long the template remains valid.

Example:

• If TTL is set to 3 hours:

• Delivered if the user opens within 3 hours

• Not delivered if opened after 3 hours

Select Template Configuration

Category

Choose the appropriate category:

• Marketing

• Utility

• Authentication

Example: Select Marketing for promotional use cases

Template Type

1. Click on Template Type

2. Select Media & Interactive

This enables media attachments and interactive elements in your template.

Add Header (Text or Media)

You can configure a header for your template.

Option 1: Text Header

• Select Text to add a text-based header

Option 2: Media Header

1. Select Image / Video / Document from the dropdown

1. Click Upload Image (or relevant media option)

1. Select the file using:

• Checkbox selection

• Or Add Files to upload new media

1. Click Send Selected Files to confirm upload

Compose Message Body

Enter your message in the Message Body field.

Formatting Options:

• Bold → Apply bold styling

• Italic → Apply italic styling

• Strikethrough → Apply strikethrough styling

Add Footer

Enter additional supporting text in the Message Footer field.

Add Interactive Buttons

You can add up to 10 buttons in a single template.

Steps:

1. Click Add Button

2. Select the button type

Custom Button

1. Select Custom

2. Enter the button label

Call-to-Action: Visit Website

1. Select Call to Action → Visit Website

1. Enter Button Text

1. Enter the URL destination

Call-to-Action: Phone Number

1. Click Add Button → Select Call Phone Number

1. Enter Button Label

1. Select Country Code

1. Enter the Phone Number

Enable Button Analytics

• Toggle Enable Button Analytics to track button interactions and performance

Save Template

Steps:

1. Click Create to save the template

1. Enter sample values for variables (if used)

2. Click Create again to confirm

Template Approval Process

• The template status will be set to Pending

• It will be submitted for approval to Meta

Preview Template

Steps:

1. Click on the created template

1. View full details and message preview

This shows how your Media and Interactive template will appear to users.
