# Templates

This document provides a complete guide to:

* Accessing Instagram templates
* Understanding template types
* Creating Generic templates
* Creating Button templates
* Managing template views

### 1️⃣ Access Instagram Template Settings &#x20;

There are two ways to access the Instagram Template page. One way is to use the top search bar in Ownchat or press Ctrl + K on your keyboard

Follow these steps to navigate to Instagram templates:

1. Click the **Settings icon** (top-right corner)
2. Select **Instagram** under channel settings
3. Navigate to the **Templates** tab

👉 In this section, you can:

* Create messages for Direct Messages (DM)
* Use comments to trigger DMs

### 2️⃣ Template Types Overview &#x20;

Ownchat supports two types of Instagram templates:

#### 🔹 Generic Template &#x20;

Supports:

* Image
* Title
* Subtitle
* Up to **3 buttons**

#### 🔹 Button Template &#x20;

Supports:

* Title
* Up to **3 buttons**

#### ✅ Key Advantage &#x20;

* No Meta approval required
* Templates can be used **instantly after creation**

### 3️⃣ Template View Options &#x20;

You can manage templates in different layouts:

#### 🔸 Grid View (Default) &#x20;

* Displays templates in a compact card layout

#### 🔸 Table View &#x20;

* Displays templates in structured rows

#### 🔄 Switching Views &#x20;

1. Click the **List View icon**
2. Select **Table View** to display templates in table format
3. Switch back to **Grid View** for a compact layout

### 4️⃣ Creating a Generic Template &#x20;

#### Step 1: Start Template Creation &#x20;

1. Click **Add Template**
2. Enter the **Template Name** (e.g., “Sweet Shop Offer”)

#### Step 2: Configure Template &#x20;

* The account will be **automatically selected** (e.g., ieyalsolutions)
* Choose **Template Type → Generic**

#### Step 3: Add Content &#x20;

**Title Text**

* Enter the promotional title

**Subtitle**

* Add a supporting message

#### Step 4: Add Media &#x20;

1. Upload an image
2. Click **Send Selected Files** to confirm

#### Step 5: Configure Button Action &#x20;

1. Select **Action Type → Web URL**
2. Enter:

* **Button Title:** “Visit our Website”
* **Destination URL**

#### Step 6: Add Additional Buttons &#x20;

1. Click **Add New Button**
2. Enter:

* Title (e.g., “Visit Us”)
* URL

👉 Maximum allowed: **3 buttons**

#### Step 7: Finalize Template &#x20;

* Click **Create Template**

✅ Your Generic template is now created

### 5️⃣ Creating a Button Template &#x20;

#### Step 1: Start Creation &#x20;

1. Click **Add Template**
2. Enter the **Template Name**

#### Step 2: Select Template Type &#x20;

* Choose **Template Type → Button**

#### Step 3: Add Content &#x20;

**Title Text**

* Enter the main message

#### Step 4: Configure Buttons &#x20;

**First Button** &#x20;

* Enter:
  * Title
  * URL

**Additional Buttons** &#x20;

1. Click **Add New Button**
2. Enter:

* Title
* URL

👉 Maximum allowed: **3 buttons**

#### Step 5: Remove Button (Optional) &#x20;

* Click the Delete icon to remove any button

#### Step 6: Finalize Template &#x20;

* Click **Create Template**

✅ Your Button template is now created

### 6️⃣ Template Management &#x20;

Inside the Templates tab, you can:

* View created templates
* Switch between Grid and Table views
* Identify template types (**Generic / Button**)
* Manage and update template structure

### 📌 Important Notes &#x20;

* Templates can be used for:
  * Direct Messages (DM)
  * Comment-to-DM automation
* **Generic templates** support media and richer layouts
* **Button templates** are simpler and CTA-focused
* No approval delay → **Immediate usability**
