Instagram Payment Link & Tracking Guide

This document provides a complete step-by-step guide to:

  • Sending payment links via Instagram chat

  • Configuring Razorpay payment integration

  • Enabling UPI payment links

  • Tracking payment transactions inside Ownchat

  • Viewing customer-level payment details

Overview

With this feature, you can:

  • Send payment links directly inside Instagram conversations

  • Accept payments via Razorpay integration

  • Track payment status (Created β†’ Paid)

  • Monitor payment performance across channels

  • Access detailed transaction history

Step 1: Access Chat

  1. Click the Chat icon in the left sidebar

  2. Open the messaging dashboard

Step 2: Select Customer Conversation

  1. Choose a customer chat (e.g., Dheva)

  2. Open the conversation window

  • You can now interact directly with the customer

  • Payment links can be shared within this chat

  1. Click the Dollar ($) icon in the chat input area

  2. This opens the Send Payment Link dialog

  1. Click Select App dropdown

  2. Choose Razorpay

  2. Choose your Ownchat Account

  1. Toggle the UPI Link switch to enable it

  • The payment link appears inside the customer chat

Step 6: Automation Support

  • Payments can also be configured through automation chatbot flows

  • You can track payments initiated via bot interactions

Step 7: Access Payment Dashboard

  1. Click the Payment menu icon in the left sidebar

  2. Open the payment management dashboard

Step 8: Filter by Channel

  1. Click the Channel dropdown

  2. Select Instagram

  • This filters payment links created via Instagram

Step 9: View Transactions

  1. Click the All Transaction tab

  2. View complete payment records

  • Customer Name

  • Amount

  • Status

Additional Details

  • You can check the Source field to identify the payment provider or origin

  • Once a payment link is generated, it appears under Created status

  • After successful payment, the status updates automatically to Paid

  • Use the Customer Reference ID to access detailed transaction history
