Segments

Overview

Segments (Dynamic Filters) allow you to group contacts based on defined conditions.

Segments update automatically when contact data changes.

Use segments to:

  • Target specific customer groups

  • Filter contacts dynamically

  • Personalize communication

  • Improve campaign targeting

Segments do not require manual updates.

Access Segments

  1. Go to the Contacts module

  2. Click Segments (top left corner)

You will be redirected to the Segments screen.

Segment Screen Controls

Inside the Segments section:

  • Click Grid View to change layout

  • Click List View to display contacts in list format

  • Click Reload to refresh segment data

Create a New Segment

Step 1: Create Segment

  1. Click Create New Segment

  2. Enter a Segment Name

  3. Configure filtering conditions

  4. Click Create Segment

The segment will be created and applied immediately.

Setting Segment Conditions

Segments are created using fields, operators, and values.

Select Field Name

  1. Click the Field Name dropdown

  2. Select the required field

Example fields:

  • Name

  • Phone Number

  • City

  • Tags

  • Custom Fields

If filtering by tag:

  1. Select Tags

  2. Choose the required tag

Select Value

Enter or choose the required value.

Examples:

  • Tag is Premium

  • City is Chennai

Adding Additional Conditions

To refine the segment:

  1. Click Add Condition

  2. Select another field

  3. Select an operator

  4. Choose a value

You can combine multiple conditions to create precise audience groups.

Condition Matching Logic

At the top of the condition configuration screen, select how conditions should be evaluated.

All Conditions (AND)

All conditions must be satisfied.

Example:

City = Chennai AND

Tag = Premium

Use for strict filtering.

Any Condition (OR)

At least one condition must be satisfied.

Example:

City = Chennai OR Tag = Premium

Use for broader filtering.

Managing Segment Conditions

Condition Tab

Click the Condition tab to:

  • View current filters

  • Modify existing conditions

  • Add new conditions

Changes apply immediately after updating.

View Segmented Contacts

After segment creation:

  • The contact list displays matching contacts

  • Total contact count is shown

  • Segment details are visible on the screen

Edit a Segment

  1. Click Edit

  2. Modify conditions

  3. Click Update

Changes are saved immediately.

Delete a Segment

  1. Click Delete

  2. Confirm deletion

The segment will be permanently removed.

Segment Behavior

Segments are dynamic.

  • Contacts meeting conditions are automatically added

  • Contacts no longer meeting conditions are automatically removed

  • No manual refresh is required
