# Contact Screen Overview

The Contact screen provides a centralized location to view and manage customer contact data inside OwnChat.

It allows users to:

* View all customer contacts
* Monitor customer growth trends
* Filter contacts based on time and source
* Analyze customer acquisition data

### 1.  Navigation to Contact Screen &#x20;

Follow the steps below to access the Contact screen:

1. Log in to OwnChat
2. Go to the left sidebar navigation
3. Click **Contacts**

4. Select a contact to view full customer details

You will be redirected to the Contact screen dashboard.

### Overview of the Contact Screen

The Contact screen contains customer data, analytics, and filtering tools to help you manage contacts efficiently.

In Ownchat's contact screen, click the top-left icon to access temporary filters. Choose conditions and values, then apply the filter to quickly narrow down contacts based on specific criteria. These filters are not saved.

Users can create dynamic filters, known as segments, to organize contacts based on custom conditions and criteria.

<summary>Hourly / Daily Customer Additions</summary>

Access settings for managing contact-related configurations, including upload history, tags, field collections and export options.

<summary>Contact Source Filter</summary>

In the Contact screen, navigate to Settings near the Add Customer button, select Upload History from the dropdown. Here, you can track all bulk upload files, view created, updated, and duplicate counts, and download error reports for issue resolution.

<summary>Viewing Contact Details</summary>

To manage tags in Ownchat, go to Settings near the Add Customer button in the Contact screen, select "Tags" from the dropdown, view tag history with creator and creation date details, and delete tags using the delete icon. To add a tag, click "Add tags," name it, and click "Create."

The top section displays key customer statistics.

**Total Customers** &#x20;

Displays the total number of contacts available in the system.

**New Customers**&#x20;

Shows the number of newly added contacts within the selected time range.

**WhatsApp Customers** &#x20;

Displays customers acquired through WhatsApp.

### Date-Based Filtering &#x20;

You can filter contact data based on a selected time range.

Available filters:

* Week
* Month

To Apply a Date Filter: &#x20;

1. Click the date filter option
2. Select the required time range
3. View updated contact data automatically

All dashboard metrics will update based on the selected filter.

### Lead Source Distribution &#x20;

This section shows the breakdown of customer acquisition sources.

### Contact Source Filter &#x20;

You can filter contacts based on their source.

To Filter by Contact Source: &#x20;

1. Locate the **Contact Source** filter

1. Select the required source
2. View contacts belonging only to that source
