How to Run a Campaign Using Simple Broadcast

Overview

Simple Broadcast allows you to send a single WhatsApp template message to multiple selected recipients at once.

This section explains how to create, configure, send, schedule, and monitor a Simple Broadcast campaign in Ownchat.

It is ideal for: Promotions and offers Customer updates Follow-ups Re-engagement campaigns

1️⃣ Accessing Simple Broadcast

Follow these steps to create a new broadcast campaign: Navigate to the Campaigns module Click Add Campaign

Click Create to start a new campaign Select Simple Broadcast

2️⃣ Campaign Setup️

Campaign Name

Enter a Campaign Name

This is an internal label used for: Tracking campaigns Managing campaigns Analyzing performance

3️⃣Selecting Target Audience

You can choose your audience using three different methods:

Option 1: Select Individual Contacts

Best for: Sending messages to specific customers Steps: Choose Contacts

Manually select contacts from the list

Tick the checkbox to include them in the campaign

Option 2: Use Segments

Best for: Targeting grouped audiences

Steps: Click Select Segment dropdown

Choose a segment (e.g., Starting Customer) You can select multiple segments View total contact count in the section

👉 If you don’t have a segment: Upload contacts using Bulk Upload Assign tags during upload

Create a segment using those tags (refer Segment module)

Option 3: WhatsApp Flow-Based Audience

Best for: Behavior-based targeting Steps: Click WhatsApp Flow dropdown

Select the desired flow

Example: Appointment Booking

Proceed to Next Step

Click Next after selecting your audience

Use Delete to remove selected audience if needed

4️⃣ Selecting Message Template

⚠️ Important Requirement

Only Meta-approved WhatsApp templates can be used Templates must be created and approved beforehand

Steps: Click Select Template

Choose your approved template (e.g., funnelcampimage) Preview and confirm

5️⃣ Media & Personalization Setup

Add Media

Click Upload IMAGE from media

Select the file using checkbox Click Send selected files

Add Dynamic Variables

Click Select Value dropdown Choose a variable (e.g., Name) Set fallback value Example: Variable → Name

Fallback → Customer

👉 Output: If name exists → John If not → Customer Click Select to confirm

6️⃣ Advanced Settings

Click Show Advanced Settings to configure:

Assign Bot for Replies

Select bot from dropdown

Example: Sales Funnel (Restaurant)

Retry Settings (Auto Retry)

Enable retry to resend failed messages: Toggle Retry Sending Messages

Configure Retry Attempts:

Attempt Delay Time 1st Retry: 6 Hours

2nd Retry: 5 Hours

3rd Retry: 12 Hours

Additional retry interval: 3 Hours Maximum allowed retries: 3 attempts

7️⃣ Campaign Execution

Send Immediately

Click Send Now Campaign will be sent instantly

Schedule Campaign

Click Schedule Now

Select Date & Time

Click Create Campaign

👉 Campaign will run automatically at scheduled time

8️⃣ Campaign Management

After creation: Campaign appears under All Campaigns

View Campaign Details

Click View Details to access:

Delivery status Campaign metrics Total audience Performance insights Amount spent

Auto Retry Campaign Insights

You can also track: Retry attempts made Delivery success after retries Overall performance
