How to Run a Campaign Using MM Lite Broadcast

Overview

MM Lite Broadcast allows you to send a WhatsApp template message to multiple selected recipients, similar to Simple Broadcast.

The campaign setup, audience selection, message configuration, scheduling, and monitoring process remain the same. The only difference is selecting MM Lite Broadcast as the campaign type during creation.

This section explains how to create, configure, send, schedule, and monitor an MM Lite Broadcast campaign in Ownchat.

Campaign Audience & Message Configuration – MM Lite Broadcast

Audience Selection

When creating a campaign, you must select the target audience.

Ownchat allows you to choose from:

  • Contacts

  • Segments

  • WhatsApp Flows

1️⃣ Contacts

Use this option to send a campaign to specific individual contacts.

Steps:

  1. Select Contacts as the audience type

  2. View the contact list

  3. Select required contacts using the checkbox

  4. Click Next to proceed

This option is suitable for targeting specific users.

2️⃣ Segments

Use this option to send campaigns to a large audience based on predefined tags or conditions.

Steps:

  1. Create a segment from the Segments screen using required tags

  2. Select Segments during campaign setup

  3. Choose the created segment from the dropdown menu

  4. View the total number of contact records included

If you selected the wrong segment:

  • Delete the selected audience

  • Re-select the correct segment

  • Proceed with the campaign

3️⃣ WhatsApp Flows

Use this option to target contacts who interacted with a specific WhatsApp bot flow.

Steps:

  1. Select WhatsApp Flows as the audience type

  2. Choose the required workflow from the dropdown menu

  3. Click Next to proceed to message configuration

Message Configuration

Select Template

  1. Click Select Template

  2. Choose the required WhatsApp-approved template

  3. Preview the template

  4. Click Select to activate the campaign layout

  5. Click Next to proceed

Upload Media (If Applicable)

If the template includes media:

  1. Click Upload from Media

  2. Select the required image or file

  3. Click Send Selected Files to upload

The media will be attached to the campaign template.

Add Variables in Template Body

To personalize the campaign:

  1. Use the Select Value dropdown

  2. Choose the required variable field

  3. Select Name as the dynamic value

  4. Set fallback value as Customer

Behavior:

  • If the user has entered their name on WhatsApp, it will appear dynamically

  • If no name is available, β€œCustomer” will be used as fallback

Click Select to confirm the variable.

Advanced Settings

Click Show Advanced Settings to access additional campaign configuration options.

Assign Replies to Bot

  1. Enable Assign Replies to Bot

  2. Select a bot from the dropdown menu

  3. Set the duration (in days) for bot handling

The selected bot will manage incoming replies during the defined period.

Retry Sending Messages

Enable Retry sending messages to contacts that failed to receive them.

Retry Attempts

You can configure up to 3 retry attempts:

  • 1st Retry β†’ After 6 hours

  • 2nd Retry β†’ After 5 hours

  • 3rd Retry β†’ As configured

You can also set the interval between campaign attempts.

Example:

  • Retry interval β†’ 3 hours

This improves delivery success rate.

Send or Schedule Campaign

Send Now

Click Send Now to immediately send the campaign to selected contacts.

The system validates:

  • Audience selection

  • Template format

  • Media attachment

Once validated, the campaign status changes to Running.

Schedule Now

Click Schedule Now to send the campaign at a future date and time.

  1. Select the desired date

  2. Select the time

  3. Confirm scheduling

You can modify or cancel the campaign before execution.

Summary

Using MM Lite Broadcast, you can:

  • Select Contacts, Segments, or WhatsApp Flows

  • Personalize templates with variables

  • Upload media

  • Assign bots for replies

  • Enable automatic retries

  • Send immediately or schedule for later

The campaign configuration process is the same as Simple Broadcast. The only difference is selecting MM Lite Broadcast as the campaign type during campaign creation.
